Why were you banned or warned?

I was warned by andy123 for a reported RDM. The report in question was because I had placed mines lining the border of an entry to my base, and someone died to one of them because someone else set them off.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

I should be unwarned because the death in question was justified. The person that died and reported me had walked onto the area that I owned via door ownership, and then died to one of my mines. The fact that it was unintentional does not play a part in the equation, since killing them would have been justified whether I had intended to or not.

The death you caused was unintentional, but it still resulted in someone dying. That person made a sit about you placing mines outside your base. You mentioned during the sit that you were testing the range of the mine, but you left it there afterward. Why didn't you remove it when you were done testing?

I wanted to be able to sit on the border of my base and look down, but placing the mines facing up on that border would have disabled that. Placing them on the walls facing out was the best compromise I could find between stopping people from entering my area and allowing me to look down at the road, possibly to claim bounties as bounty hunter with golden list or look down at the apartment entrance to see if possible raiders were entering.

 

You mentioned that people with movement tools might accidentally set them off, but unless they were near my balcony with said movement tools and at the level where the lasers were, which would mean they are very close, then they wouldn't even be damaged by setting off the mines anyways.

 

In the clip, you can see the person that made the report intentionally come up to my balcony, walk up to the mines that I placed while on my balcony, and die while on my balcony. This means that they worked as intended and I killed someone who technically was on my property, which was not a public base.
