No longer allow mayor to make the first PD room KoS

Title. Jaywalking, I can deal with. At least there's alternatives that do not hinder the RP experience much, and makes it (slightly) more realistic. However, 1st PD room (w/ bounty board) just opens up a whole lot of problems. No one is able to check the bounty board OR use any of the health stations, things that are vital to good RP. Not only that, but police hardly focus on anything else except hunkering down in PD and killing a random citizen who got hit by crossfire the moment they walk in, and the ones that are left outside are fining people 5k left and right. Nothing productive gets done. On the staff side too, it can cause numerous RDM sits that don't need to happen, because people can debate on whether or not someone was actually in PD. It can cause people to not realize that they have a 20k bounty, because walking into PD to check instantly kills them, with could create RDA/ARDA sits. Not to mention the constant accidental killings of unique cop models or undercover cops that get gunned down by a juggernaut behind a one-way.

 

TL : DR:

Do not allow Mayor to make 1st PD room KoS. It removes any productivity from CP, and has potential to cause unneeded RDM/RDA sits, as well as unwarranted killings of undercover/unique model cops. No one can see their bounties or heal up.

 

Edit: Includes banning making 1st room AoS for similar reasons.

My man, it's literally HIS Police Station. All of those things are not a right. It's his base, he can say what happens in his base. Perhaps we can make something along the lines of "If PD is KoS, keep the front doors locked"

 

Sounds fair, since that still fixes the death chamber problem.

Citizens have no utility of the bounty board (aside from hackers, but their hacking activities are illegal) and the mayor's office has a button to stop the health station from working completely.

In general, good RP dictates if the PD is KOS, an effort should be made to make sure it's blocked off or locked up. Citizens should still do their due diligence and use !laws if there's a mayor playing, that's the first command I run after !staff to see who else is online to assist players.

 

Perhaps a solution that would benefit people of both opinion: Add another button to the mayor's PD screen making the PD AOS/KOS to non-CP that turns the front doors red or something, or add text to the "vault is raidable" sign that says either "PD IS OPEN" or "PD IS AOS/KOS TO NON-CP" when the mayor toggles the option. This would help to resolve any confusion regarding a player not realizing there's a KOS law and having their RP interrupted while allowing the mayor the freedom to secure the PD against hackers, hitmen going after cops, mic spammers, etc. If it is toggled, we could even make the doors automatically locked when closed (with like a 10s cooldown to stop people from spamming E)
