Why were you banned?: The reason for my ban is MRDM + MNLR.  I feel that my ban was unjustified and that because my microphone was not working I was not able to fully explain my side of the story.  My job was crip leader, and I was going around killing bloods, nothing too much out of the ordinary.  Now I will agree with those who say that killing bloods isn't exactly apart of the job - you are correct; therefore, I will admit I was doing some wrong.  However, I do not feel that my actions were considerably large enough to warrant a 7 day ban.  While I was killing bloods, I did make an attempt to wage war, but the chat would automatically respond that the offer was declined.  I mistakenly thought of this as a bug, as I had mixed it up with the bug which will end the war once the leader of one of the parties has been killed, and decided it would be alright to continue with the war.  I had, after getting three kills and then being killed once, broken NLR - one of the bloods reminded me of this, and I promptly left.  I understood that I had broken the rules and had corrected my behavior accordingly.  After leaving the NLR zone, I went to the town square and got maybe one or two kills on the blood's leader, before he complained and I was brought into a sit.  My mic wasn't plugged in, so I was forced to type the answer to every question.  The blood leader had basically convinced the admin on duty that I was harassing him and his buddy, and when I tried to give an explanation he asserted that I was a liar.  To that, I got angry, and replied that if he really did not want to be killed as a blood and instead run his gambling shop then perhaps he should switch to a more fitting job for a merchant, instead of one which is known to engage in violence.  Instead of giving my side to the story, I let my anger get the best of me, and then I was promptly banned.  I pretty much got banned for 7 DAYS for breaking NLR once (leaving once I realized my mistake), and killing two bloods a few times.

 

Why should you be unbanned?:

 

Gang violence is undoubtedly one of the most fun aspects of the server.  Usually when I am in a feud of crips vs bloods, the other side loves to play along; unfortunately, these bloods didn't want to have any of it.  Instead of saying anything to me, they just had me banned.  I would have stopped, even changed jobs, if they had said something either through voice or chat that they really didn't want to go to war, or even if the admin had given me a warning, much less such a lengthy ban.  I understand what I did was wrong but I at least think, for as few kills as I had inflicted upon the bloods, I should have gotten away with a final warning, which I would have fully listened to and complied with.  I'm not going to say the ban was unfair; however, I will say the hammer was brought down too hard and too fast.  I'm going to learn from this ban and be more proactive when dealing with gang violence.  As a daily player of the server, I hope you guys are as willing to unban me as I am willing to correct my behavior.

Edit #1: I believe it is important to note that the bloods were returning fire.  They were killing me too!  If they did not want me killing them after the first one or two times I killed them, they should have brought up the sit then, not after I kill them 5 or 6 times and there is mounting evidence for them to prove MRDM.

Upon review, you are correct about one thing. the MNLR is actually incorrect. This part is entirely my fault for being too hasty with the logs. I will be removing this from your ban, and updating it to regular NLR, not Mass.

 

However, I do not believe there is anything to be done regarding the MRDM. It is entirely on you to read the rules and class/job descriptions, and as a daily player of the server, you should know full well the Crips and Bloods are not KOS to each other. In addition, your "explanation" during the sit basically consisted of you saying you killed him because he was a gang member and therefore he should expect to be killed. This had nothing to do with anyone assuming you to be a liar, and more to do with your explanation not excusing your actions. Finally, again regarding the MRDM, you RDMed the Blood players 7 times. This definitely falls under the purview of MRDM, and 7 days is entirely appropriate. It is completely ridiculous of you to "assume" that the server simply glitched, instead of going with your gang war simply getting declined. In addition, you never even brought up this assumption in our sit, so, frankly, I don't believe you when you say it now. In the sit, you only said they declined your war, so you decided to kill them anyway.

 

Given that you Mass RDMed, then, why do you think you deserve leniency? By your own words, you are a server regular and a daily player - shouldn't you have known better?

After thinking it over, I still feel your ban is appropriate, but, after re-reading your post, you seem willing to improve and work on your behavior. I'll be showing SOME leniency. You admitted fault. You took the time to appeal, shows you care about the server. Why not?

 

I'll be reducing your ban from the maximum for MRDM (7d) to 5d, the minimum

 

In the future, please garner consent from the other players you kill next time, and try to maintain a calmer temperament in the sit.
