(Their name and profile): Gumbowl [Trial moderator] | http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197998565437 Reasons why you are reporting: Upon joining the server late last night I saw a player named erickerick287 calling in ooc for an admins help. I told him to simply make a report and he told me that a person named gumbowl had been denying his reports for no reason. While waiting for him to make another report for me to accept I noticed that the player and trial-moderator named gumbowl was constantly making fun of and being disrespectful/rude to erickerick287. When i got the sit open i claimed it and tped erickerick287 to me. I asked him what happened and he explained that gumbowl was denying his sits and being extremely rude and disrespectful in ooc. I checked chat logs and saw the things below. Being staff makes you the role models for the server and I think it is very wrong to make fun of / be rude to players and other people on the server. When i asked gumbowl to tp for a sit he kept asking why as I responded with for a sit he asked why again almost as if he didn't want to come to the sit because he knew he was in the wrong. I think he should be talked to for talking to players like this over occ as erickerick287 felt he was being attacked personally and out players should never feel that way especially by staff. I think gumbowl could have talked to him in a more respectful way rather than being rude to him and closing his sits over and over. I think as staff we should be a respectful mannered team to improve the look of the server. The only reason why i was ignoring his reports was because they were sloppy and had stray letters at the end of them, which i know for a fact many staff ignore for those reasons. Furthermore, the reason why i mocked his spelling etc, was because he requested in OOC, that he needs a staff "who knows what they are doing" which i responded with a joke that he needs a life, which by the way i make that joke about myself all the time, so i thought it not disrespectful at the time. also he did mock the ability of staff so in return i mocked his spelling and grammar. I do realize this was not the most mature way of dealing with it and i will reflect on that, but i am not the one who instigated this whole ordeal. also you'll notice that right when randomized mentions the sit involves me i immediately responded, i wasn't avoiding anything for any reason. But it doesn't allow you to say that, you mocking his spelling, making fun of him, saying he needs a life. Disrespecting him because he mis-spelled something? Or sounded a TAD bit rude? Or his sit didn't make sense? What a joke. You're staff, you're supposed to fix problems and help, not make problems. If he doesn't make sense in reports, simply IGNORE them BUT explain to him why you did. Don't let him hanging and then disrespect him. So what I get from this, is that you always make fun of players that misspell words, don't make sense in reports. And that say "I want good staff"? I'll give you one for being maybe being a bit tilted for him saying "I want good staff" but, you're staff, you should be a bit respectful if not fully respectful :|. You should know that, Gombowl. Just because you say it's a "joke" erick doesn't know it's a joke and will probably take it serious. A mod shouldn't disrespect someone who needs help. And i make fun of myself more than i make fun of others for spelling, he just undermined a skill of mine so i did the same, which again was immature of me. I try my best to resolve situations and not let them get out of control and try to keep everything calm and under control, but this is one of those cases where i let my ego get the better of me. Like i said before i recognize i am in the wrong here and i will reflect on my mistakes and have apologized both in game and i am doing it here. When your staff your staffing abilities are gonna be judged and you have to accept that. infact there is almost never any situation were you should disrespect them I'm not using any of what i just said as an excuse i am just explaining why it all happened the way it did, which honestly all could have been avoided if i just stopped getting involved. The joke i made was relevant to the context i was using it in and i thought he would pick up on that and maybe have a laugh, but i will be more careful before making those kind of calls. My main goal is to maintain order, not to put down players and to promote bullying. And i will take care to respond more carefully and put out more respect whether or not it is being given to me. There is no such thing as joking with people calling for staff. i never joked when he was calling for staff. When he made reports i again told him in a very rude way what was wrong with them and why they were getting ignored. When he said in OOC, that he NEEDS staff that "know what they are actually doing", that is when i made the joke about him NEEDing a life. I thought the joke appropriate since it was relevant to the context of what he said but obviously i made the wrong call on that. Not to nitpick but i just also wanted to point out that some disrespect was thrown my way and this whole ordeal was not one way.
