Who are you reporting? (Their name and profile): Mira

Reasons why you are reporting: I was just standing at fountain and just watching people, Mira decides to go infront of me and give me a warning countdown for being near him/his friend. He kills me several times while i try to talk to him. I make a sit so i can talk to him as staff, when he accepts the sit he simply brings me, says what he has to say and doesn't let me say anything. He shouldn't have killed me just for being near him/his friend as the rules state "DO NOT warn people for general actions such as walking down the street, looking at them or being near them", Also when i tried to reason with him he should have listened to what i have to say. I would suggest that you have another staffmember talk to him about this, maybe even consider a demotion.

Hmm.

I've never encountered a problem like this. He should've gave you time to speak rather than counting down to kill but even with the counting, he cannot warn you for being near a friend.

I am currently neutral on this. If any other staff believe this is worthy of demote then shall be it. However, it's 3am and I have class in 5 hours so hopefully others will respond with their opini opinions.

Final result may change.

I can understand how you feel about this - I do agree that I didn't handle the situation in the most professional manner, but my opinion still stands that it was legitimate, or within reason.

The situation was thus; Yolo (The Old Man) asked me to cover him while he was selling weapons, to ensure nobody stole his product. Glad to oblige, I stood watch. Bow came a little too close for comfort, so I warned him to back away, counted, and shot. (Now, I should probably have a text bind for it rather than doing it over voice so it can show on logs - as a staff member, I know how this is important, I just don't normally get in many scenarios where I would need a warn bind, so I haven't ended up making one just yet.)

With the general buyer in the state that it currently is, where valuable goods are dropped on the floor and can easily be stolen by anyone (and propblocking it to prevent theft being against the rules), it makes sense to be cautious of people getting too close, and I personally believe it to be valid to be able to warn someone to back away (and fire if they don't) when said exchange of goods is occurring. If the buyer could be fixed to avoid needing to drop the items (perhaps some sort of interface allowing you to sell items directly from your inventory), the situation could have been avoided in the first place. I don't find this situation dissimilar from, for example, transporting a printer from a raided base to your own base. Naturally, you wouldn't go alone if you're raiding in a party, you'd have someone cover you - if anyone gets too close trying to steal the printer, warn them and then shoot if they don't go away. Naturally, in this scenario, when you're transferring a printer, it's public space, so the situation of the report would still apply. If this behavior is valid, would the behavior I exerted in the OP not also be valid? Additionally, my fellow staff, Yolo, backed up the legitimacy of warning someone to back away and firing during a transfer of goods like this, so this further reinforced my decision-making to do so.

Now, as for how I handled the situation, I do agree in hindsight I was a bit crude, if anything. The situation could have been handled with far more professionalism and finesse than it was, and I apologize that it wasn't. I try to bring a high quality performance to my staff role, and this is certainly one situation where I didn't shine. In the future, I will gladly talk it out (though, in this situation, I'd rather wait until I'm done covering the person using the shop to take a sit or anything of the sort) and be sure to listen to what the other person has to say. If there's anything I'd like to point out about the other side, though, returning and doing the same thing that got you killed in the first place only leads to the action occurring again - I would have likely gladly discussed the situation across the map in PMs or OOC.

Bowres, I'd like to formally apologize to you for the lack of professionalism displayed in this scenario - in the future, if such an altercation occurs, please feel free to reach out via PMs or OOC, or even add me on Steam and we can talk it out (naturally, this goes for anyone who reads this). I meant no personal offense, you were just getting a bit close to the guns being dropped, and people sure do love to take those valuable guns when they're sitting on the floor - I haven't seen you around much so I couldn't have known from experience whether to trust you or not (then again, this can be hard to tell at times, haha). I do hope this won't cause any interpersonal rift between the two of us - I'm not looking to start beefs with anyone. :)

So after watching the video (BTW thank you for recording) I believe that Mira did not rdm you. He did warn you to leave and even though the rules say you can not warn people for being near you, but that would apply more to if you are not doing anything. Because he was asked to guard while old man sold his guns I believe it is allowed since you are getting near there weapons also. Mira could have handed the sit a lot better by taking more time and talking to you and letting you speak your side. Maybe also waiting until he was done protecting old man and he could have also brought you to a sit location. I do not think Mira needs to be demoted for this, since he is still a Trial Mod, and it seems like he has already learned his lesson. But if he needs it maybe some more one on one training with higher staff.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALRIGHTY.

Seeing HD footage in a report is a onetime thing in 1000 years.

I see Mira kinda made a little mistake on killing you, he apologized, which is extremely rare within our staff, he doesn't want beef.

I'm gonna close this thread and talk to him, and after that I hope everyone could have a fun time on TITSRP
