-rep was removed because of people being rep bombed as Rubik said on silvers clown emoji suggestion thing. I dont really see a lot of people being 'rep bombed', which while maybe being because I dont check the forums often, might also be because it doesnt happen to a lot of people. haze_of_death or something got -repped a shit ton, sometimes by the same people, which may be considered rep bombing, but other times just by other members of the community who genuinely didn't like his suggestions/posts. reputation has always been meaningless on the forums, so i dont know why rubik decided to delete the -rep function and not just reputation entirely. now someone can show up as having 60 rep when in reality they should be on -20 because they have shit suggestions or shitpost frequently. having a lot of -rep on the forums shows that you are very disliked by members of the community, some that don't even know you on the server, but from your terrible ideas or reports. i think being able to see who you can visibly see has good a opinion (judged by the community) on new server changes or the state of the server is important for newer members. if someone with 400 +rep is replying to something like a suggestionl or other you can probably assume they have been around the community for a while and their views on additions/the server are well respected by other users, whereas if someone with -80 rep replies to something like a suggestion, saying its terrible and will ruin the server, you can probably assume that his/her view on the server isn't the same as the majority of the playerbase, and most likely their past posts similar to this seem to lack good judgement on what can/can't benefit the server. I don't see why players complain about forums reputation in the first place. ingame, sure, it might make it more difficult for you to get to that extra xp perk or something, but on the forums, you get -repped for either being disliked on the server or having ideas/replies that people disagree with. Bring back -rep on the forums and if rep bombing continues just disable the rep bomber's permission to -rep people. if it's too much of a hassle to disable the whole 5 rep bombing players' permissions, then just delete reputation entirely as its even more meaningless than it once was. whats the point in only being able to say, "yes, i love this guy!" and not "i dislike this guy! i don't think he is very reputable at all!" If people really care that much over their forums account having red numbers, allow an option in the Account Settings tab to disable/hide your reputation entirely.
