  1. If this were to be added then it would negate the point of the CC Editor spawner for these such of supporters. However it would then bring up a point of a Bank Spawner which I would be all for. So I'd be willing to trade giving Lifetime Supporter a CC editor command for a Bank Spawner item. Either way it doesn't really hurt anyone to have this feature and it could incentivize more to actually become a lifetime supporter so it is a generally good suggestion.

  2. There was a commit that went through but didn't appear in the changelogs, this appears to be intentional. These changes are active because I have personally tried the Medic Medkit and it is significantly faster after this commit.

So just some recent ideas that have come to mind after learning of the removal of the Mayor Jobs (Firearm Trainer/Landlord) and since my gang and myself have been doing a lot of Bank Manager+Guards recently and providing a dupe that has constantly been up to decorate the lobby and have basic defenses. So I think I'd give myself a shot at making some suggestions on this topic.

     

    Government Jobs

    A new job category with jobs related to the government but are not cops. These jobs would be required to follow all laws and follow under the Mayor's laws as they still work for him but do not work at the police station. As with CP jobs you are not allowed to commit crimes or assist criminals.

     

    Bank Manager

    • Now a Government Job following that ruleset
    • Add a Bank Manager Menu (such as the Mayor Menu or King's Menu) with options such as:
      • Fire Bank Guard (Simply lets the Manager manage his guards)
      • Sound the Bank Alarm (Alerts the cops as if a 911 call but originates from the vault, and it would be the alarm that goes off when a c4 is used on it or a hacker makes the alarm go off)
      • Lockdown the Bank (Similar to PD lockdown but closes and locks the doors with some sort of cooldown, I'm guessing it would require a map update for shutters to come down in the front windows though)
      • Place Bank Screen (Have the ability to place an additional bank screen that would be moveable similar to the law board)
      • Siphon Money (Similar to Mayor's tax but instead from the Vault's money splitting the amount siphoned between you and the bank's employees. This would be the primary way of earning money and the job being contested and more valued)
    • Possibly if the bank is successfully raided the Bank Manager gets demoted for failing to defend the bank. This would definitely have to be a thing if the Siphon Money is a thing or at least some other way to force demote the manager.
    • Some way to grant temporary loans that would have to be paid back before the due date or interest would rise/it automatically deducts the amount from your money.

     

    Bank Guard

    • Now a Government Job following that ruleset
    • Increased job slots by 1 or 2

     

    Unnamed Extra Bank Employee

    • New Government Job
    • This is just here as a suggestion to instead of just having more Bank Guards you could also have like the Bank Shareholder or some sort of stronger guard like Bank Juggernaut
    • Not really necessary just really filling up space and making ideas for more government jobs

     

    Firearm Trainer

    • Reimplemented from Mayor Job to Government Job
    • Earn EXP/Money for giving people Firearms licenses and or from people using the dummy placer SWEP they had I think
    • Maybe control which firearms are considered legal
    • Have a way for people to test out firearms you own
    • Have a way similar to gun stands to distribute firearms or just make them use gun stands

     

    Landlord

    • Reimplemented from Mayor Job to Government Job
    • Earn EXP for people owning doors you taxed
    • Somehow have a way to supply Door Shields/House Alarms to people
    • Something along the line of being able to do inspections and put like a certified thing on peoples door or mark them negatively for not passing inspection

     

    Paramedic

    • New Government Job
    • Uses the Rebel Medic models that are currently unused
    • Similar to Medic in which they get the Medic Bag SWEP (Or something similar I just love that SWEP)
    • Can give people health insurance
    • When someone goes to low HP and has health insurance you get a ping on their location and a speed boost to go heal them
    • Gains EXP when healing someone who was low and or had health insurance and was injured
    • Or just use this idea and implement it into Medic, or rework Medic into this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

     

    Lawyer

    • New Government Job
    • Uses one of the Hostage models that the Pianist isn't
    • Apparently this was a thing at some point
    • People can use this with Judge Gabe to do court cases
    • Able to make cases with lawsuit amounts, if two people agree on a case lets say the lawsuit is 50k, each of them would pay 25k and then after the case is settled the victor would receive the money. Victor could be decided by anyone in the court room acting as a jury or by the lawyer themself.

     

    Poller

    • Possibly changed from Civilian Job to Government Job but not really necessary

     

     

    Yeah that's basically everything I thought of, none of it is really necessary but it might be fun for people to be part of the government but not a cop is the short end of it. Also I'd like the Bank Manager to be able to fire guards out of everything is what I would want but the rest could wash out into the ocean, I just have fun writing up this sort of thing.

  4. As the owner of a Gang with this talent I can indeed say that it is extremely buggy and we have had multiple cases where people are put into this so called "God Mode." I believe once Holographic was in it during Mayor and for fairness he suicided, and either for a long time today or twice today RubberDruggies was experiencing this as multiple people called him out for being unkillable yet I have never experienced or been able to test if there is still a hitbox, let alone the cause of this bug. If someone would want to bug hunt this with me sometime I would be glad to try and get as many people in my gang to help root out the problem as I do not like playing unfair and would rather it be working as intended.

    When I was crafting gang tokens I made two since thats what I had the resources for, and they created bugged tokens instead.

  7. Walter I really appreciate the clarifications on everything and its great that you responded to everything individually. Even if it is "In the rules" I would like it to be more apparent, I know you can quote everything and reference it all but that doesn't mean everyone can. I still spend a ton of time in the MOTD checking the situation on things.

    If the server allows you to kill yourself, you can.

    So with this statement are you implying that you are allowed to kill yourself to: Avoid being cuffed/arrested, Avoid being killed by a hitman or the target of any other class, Avoid dying to special classes such as Grim Reaper who is trying to reap you? At what point do we draw the line for FailRP when killing yourself, or are you saying that this situation is an exception?

     

     

    Cobaselic thanks for you're response even though there is literally no where that says you can't kidnap with a building sign I've seen it happen, I've even done it, and no ones ever gotten in trouble. Being kidnapped from your own base makes absolutely no sense in the whole logistics of the situation, but I understand where you're coming from and that you're against it being changed.

     

    Anyways thanks for everyone partaking in this discussion as I'm sure its been the topic of discussion before there is still a lot of hard to answer questions at least for me.

  8. Hey everyone, I'm sure a lot of people are fed up with kidnappers which is why some people always devote themselves to killing them. I also see people just use the bludgeon, even if not to try and kidnap, just to start fights and incite killing between two groups. It is still a fun to be on the kidnapper sides of things and is overall a decent mechanic for the server. I just want to take a minute and go over rules and how I would revise them.

     

    All important rules from the MOTD:

    "Max Kidnapping time: 5 minutes"

    "Kidnapping is a default illegal activity"

    "Kidnapping/Attempt to Kidnap makes you KOS"

    "Kidnap bases can have 5 fading doors, 2 for main room 3 for kidnap cages."

    "In order to kill your kidnap target they must be in your base first."

     

    In total these are the most important rules for kidnapping, but it feels like a lot has been left out.

     

    What about suicide? Is it failRP to kill yourself while in a kidnap cage, even though it gives you a 3 minute cool down on using kill in console. 

     

    What about when/where can you kidnap? There is no rule stating where and when you can and can't kidnap, the only exceptions being the 3 preset public areas (Spawn, Fountain, Chill Zone) in which you find out you can't kidnap when trying to. Wouldn't it make sense that this would then apply to public bases? What about if I just walk into someones base and kidnap them out of their own base? There is nothing stopping me physically nor in the rules. Even if you're a job that can't raid it still means you're allowed to trespass and kidnap there. Even if they have a building sign, it states they can't be raided or have money making entities, doesn't mean you can't kidnap them.

     

    What about same target cool down? There is a physical 5 minute or so cool down on yourself being kidnapped but raiding time is 20 minutes and mugging doesn't even have a cool down either.

     

    What if the Mayor makes it legal? Can cops still KOS kidnappers even though they aren't allowed to AOS them anymore?

     

    Is there a max amount for a fee that you can charge? I setup a kidnap base as preacher once and allowed people to pay 5k to kill them or 10k to release them, but there is no max so I could be charging 1m to release or else they just have to sit there for 3 minutes to kill themselves or wait 5 minutes until I have to release them.

     

    Can a group of people just walk around hit people with bludgeons just to start a fight? I asked an admin before and he said if I killed someone with a bludgeon hit its not RDM, which means you could get a full 10 person party with bludgeons just hitting people to death and if they fight back you all call party defense and pull out guns. This is a huge problem because its a way for knowledgeable players just to incite a deathmatch. Example: I'm just doing my RP as a doctor in a clinic, Random Person walks into my clinic and tries to hit me with a bludgeon. My security guard shoots him, he pulls out his gun and start killing him and then everyone else in my clinic calls party defense and this whole brawl breaks out while I'm trying to RP.

     

    Solutions.

     

    Make a short statement stating that you can suicide while in a kidnap cage.

     

    Make it so you can only kidnap in the streets/sewers/beach or just "Any area that isn't in a building."

     

    Make it so you can't target the same player with kidnapping or kidnap attempt for 20 minutes same as raiding.

     

    Either the Mayor should not be able to make kidnapping legal, or even if they are allowed to make it so that with this law cops must still be allowed to KOS kidnappers. The reason I bring this up so much is since cops aren't supposed to kill criminals unless they have been shot first but stunning and cuffing is great since it still unkidnaps the target.

     

    Simply set that the max ransom fee be 20k or something as reasonable, maybe even require that there has to be a ransom fee.

     

    Make it so using a bludgeon with no intent to kidnap or kidnapping with just the intent of starting a fight be against the rules. This is inciting RDM and no one wants that especially when there is a legitimate RP scenario happening.

     

     

    Side note: While looking through the rules and referencing mugging it states you can only mug for 1k while the E menu which is how you're supposed to mug goes up to 5k.

     

     

    Edit: A quick afterthought, maybe make it so when someone kidnaps they become a target or Mr. Bones so that Bones can track and kills them hopefully before they get into their base. Also maybe make it so kidnapping requires you to have the intent of bringing them back to your base.

  9. I had previously made a thread (Now deleted because I saw this one) about how killing prisoners was generally accepted. My friend and I had infiltrated the PD as hackers and were playing prisoner in the jail cells. A cop comes in, locks all the cells, and kills us without even thinking if we were arrested or not. This makes the scenario seem like it wasn't RDM but it killed us and we lost stuff because of it when they didn't bother to check if we were actually arrested or had any items.

  10. So I've been confused before about different chats (Party/Gang) being the same color and as well as moderator being the same color. My quick suggestion would be to split those three colors and since Smod isn't a rank anymore as of tonight moderator could easily be changed to the Smod's old color. This is just for lack of clarification so its not a big issue.

  11. Hey, hope you have as much support as you need dude. Bad things happen in life and I really do sympathize for you but sometimes you have to get over some hardships to get to the better parts. Good luck to everyone involved, and congrats on Moderator. Do what you need to do obviously, but the struggle is real and reach out to people if you ever need help, you aren't alone.

  12. I know in general I'm the only person who consistently plays Medic but I just had a small request. The Chemical Engineer currently uses only one of the rebel medic models. The suggestion is to implement either the rest of them into the chemical engineer or spread the love with the Medic job. The other idea was to flip flop Kleiner onto Chemical Engineer and have all the rebel medic models on Medic. Anyways, its just that the bulk of rebel medic models are not being used and I think they could easily be included as either Medic or Chemical Engineer.

  13. Greetings everyone, it is I the medic that has been harassing the advert channel about my clinic.

     

    Anyays, hey everyone nice to see this server. I found this server a week ago after finally having an urge to come back to DarkRP. I had about 2-3 year hiatus in which someone had asked me to help them run a server, then got everyone else on board to treat me like shit and blame the servers failure on me. I digress. I am finally happy to be back to another server that is filled with many friendly faces. As I am sure there is limit to this friendliness as this server is the most vulgar playground I have been in, and I’m loving it. Being able to tell people to watch the hard r is amongst the greatest thing I’ve done in a community in awhile. Thanks for being such honest people.

     

    Now for my RP persona, Dr. Ronsan. Although I do normally take the name just Ronsan, there is always something dear to me about being a medic and running a clinic. My escapades as Dr. Ronsan (Expired medical lisence) have been great and some community members have really grown on me. Cobaselic, my repeating morning customer who also keeps me sheltered from the RDMers. I am grateful for my many security guards but my greatest one being Kamala, someone who lets loose and keeps me entertained. My patients, Chavez Rodriguez always refilling his prescription. G13 who I literally killed, removed his bones, then had him revived by a necromancer. The one guy who I can’t remember his name but made me blow him and also used c4 as his “explosive orgasm,” twice, which is a huge money waste but hey rp right? Also a huge fucking thank you to mrkiwi for giving me vip, and everyone else for donating money to the clinic.

     

    Finally, as it seems I’m writing a 3 paragraph essay, I would like to say I feel welcome and hope to continue to be the medic of the community. Cheers everyone. Oh yeah and the time I got warned because I hit someone with a hook because he asked if I wanted to hook up, good times. In this scenario I think I deserved the warning so I don’t care to get it repealed, can’t be a 100% clean.
