Why were you banned or warned?

Got banned for NLR at pd, thought you were not allowed to rdm at pd so i went back thinking it was safe and as long as i didnt shoot back at him it would be over. Reported the guy RDMing me and admin said I was NLR and banned me for 5 days letting the other guy free.

Why should you be unwarned/unbanned?

I did not provoke anyone and was just conducting business with the mayor, I was just trying to RP without confrontation. I also did not know about this NLR rule.

Who warned/banned you?

Lean

How long were you warned or banned for?

5 days

Yeah you were banned for MNLR not just NLR, Mass NLR meaning you broke it 3 or more times.

Mass anything usually results in a week ban so 5 days seems fair. I will wait to +1/-1 this until the banning staff member gets a chance to reply (I will send this appeal to him now.)

I just wanted to say something for this appeal if you don’t want this comment here just hide it I would prefer not to get warned on the forums.

when I was still part of the staff team I tried to teach people about the rules and explain that “hey you broke this rule a couple times I’m gonna give you a warn for it please don’t do it again” unless they were just killing people and being a nuisance. But I wanted to really emphasize that just because they broke the rule doesn’t mean I’m going to just ban them off the server for breaking that rule. I’m just wondering for this guy that got banned, obviously more might be revealed when lean replies, but was it really necessary to just straight remove Remove his ability to play the server for five days just because he didn’t know about the NLR and try to walk back into the PD? It seems a bit excessive. Where a warn could’ve taken its place and us taking a moment to explain like hey you can’t do that and this is why

Yes, I have never broken this rule before, as you can tell by my record, and not to mention I very rarely get warned for anything as I try not to intrude on other people's experiences in game. I just found it funny when I got a ban when I was not killing anyone, and when admin said I was NLRing I had no idea what he was talking about. Thats why I thought the ban was a bit extreme especially for a first offense.

Hey Ryan, so it's really your responsibility to read the rules before you join the server. If you had done that or if you played any other DarkRP server ever, you would know what NLR is. NLR is when you come back to your place of death. It's not always enforced, but when you are involved in a roleplay scenario such as a PD raid, revolt, etc. you must "start a new life" upon death. You may not return to the place of death to continue the RP scenario.

According to your post, it does not appear this ban was issued in error. That being said, we have a policy of if the banning staff does not respond to the appeal in 24 hours,  you will be unbanned. Consider this a learning experience and educate yourself on the server rules as they may differ from other servers.
